Virtual Orange County Events For Kids- Paws & Pages Story Sessions with the Annenberg Petspace

Paws & Pages is a live-streamed reading session where children of all ages can attend to hear an interesting story and meet wonderful furry friends. This event is hosted by Annenberg Petspace, a local pet adoption center located in Playa Vista. What is the Annenberg Petspace? 

The Annenberg Petspace is a community center like no other. At this space, they offer an education center, leadership institute, and a pet adoption center. The mission for Petspace is simple- they believe the relationship between animals and humans is invaluable, and wish to foster that bond through community and science. Through their work, Petspace has given countless innocent animals in the Los Angeles area a new and improved life through education and adoption! 

Founded by Wallis Annenberg, the Annenberg Petspace is just one of the philanthropist’s many amazing efforts to better the community. Wallis Annenberg is the current president and chairwoman of the Annenberg Foundation, a family foundation that assists non-profit organizations with financial support. Though much of Wallis Annenberg’s work is centered around improving the Los Angeles community, the Annenberg foundation has benefited many corners of the world through educational programs, community centers, and much more! That being said, when you support Orange County events like Paws & Pages, not only are you in for a fun afternoon activity, but you’re also helping the Annenberg Foundation and the Annenberg Petspace to achieve their missions of improving our beautiful community!

What can I expect during the Paws & Pages event? 

Paws & Pages is an hour-long family-friendly virtual event. The event will begin with a fun and exciting storytime reading for kids to enjoy and interact with. Then, you will get the chance to meet one of Petspace’s furry friends via their online Pet Encounter! Each week will spotlight a different pet at Petspace that is up for adoption, so kids can show some love to pets who are in need of some extra love and attention. Of course, this also means that if you find your family falls in love with that week’s pet visitor, you’re certainly welcomed to contact Petspace about a potential adoption! So if you’re in the market for a new family companion, this event is definitely something you might be interested in. Lastly, the event closes with a Q&A session where children can talk to the animal care specialists that work at Petspace and ask them all the burning questions they may have! Overall, Paws & Pages is an amazing opportunity for the little animal lovers in your life to learn more about their passion.
