The OC always has some fun events to enjoy, and that is certainly true of the month of October. This time around we’ve got two awards luncheons and a Halloween-themed cruise that you may enjoy.

2018 Civic 50 Orange County

This event, sponsored by the Orange County Business Journal, is a luncheon and awards program celebrating the most community-minded OC companies. The winners in each category, small, medium, and large business, will be judged across multiple categories. The ones that win will have invested in the community in which they are located, and will have made an impact on the people who live there. It is a prestigious honor for all those who are nominated, and you’ll want to be there to see if your favorites bring home the top prizes. It’s at the Hotel Irvine on Thursday, October 11th.

19th Annual Orange County Arts Awards

On Tuesday, October 16th, it’s another awards gala, this one in honor of the OC artistic community. The 19th Annual Orange County Arts Awards is a special evening of recognition and celebration. There will be a lifetime achievement award bestowed upon Mark and Jan Hilbert for their founding of the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University. The Laguna Art Museum will celebrate the 100th year of its existence. Also, Carol Saindon, a local artist, will be recognized for her installations, sculptures, and photo montages. Ticket prices vary. This event will take place at the Samueli Theater in Costa Mesa.

Halloween Yacht Party- Newport Beach

If awards ceremonies aren’t your style, how about a Halloween Yacht Party? The Royal Princess Yacht company in Newport Beach is casting off the evening of Saturday, October 27th. This 21 and over event is a costume ball on a ghoulish luxury yacht decked out for the season. You’ll get access to an unlimited buffet dinner. There will be DJs and dancing, cash prizes for best costume, and there’s a full bar with all sorts of seasonal drink specials.
