Iranian Documentary Series “October 13, 1937” – UC Irvine

On the 26th April 2019 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm in UC Irvine’s McCormick Screening Hall (HG 1070) another docunight called Iranian Documentary Series titled “October 13, 1937” directed by Baktash Abtin will be held. This is one of the things to do in Orange County that showcases the Iranian-Armenian maestro Loris Tjeknavorian, who is an Iranian Armenian composer and conductor. He has led international orchestras all around the world and his compositions have been performed by major orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Halle Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra Helsinki, American Symphony Orchestra in New York, Tehran Symphony Orchestra, Johannesburg Symphony Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, the Mexico Symphony Orchestra, London Percussion Virtuosi, Strasbourg Percussion Ensemble and English Chamber Orchestra. If you love classical music, this is a must-see documentary. The documentary is in Persian but has English subtitles. After the screening, a discussion and Q&A will follow. Also, after the screening wine and an hors d’oeuvre reception will take place. The event is free and open to the public.
