Here Are Some Orange County Events That Are Just For Kids

Are you looking for Orange County events this week that are kid-themed or are appropriate for the whole family? Plenty is going on that can steer the children away from their smartphones for a while, and there’s no better time for some family bonding. Whether you’re an OC native or just passing through, don’t miss out on these activities.

Street Fair and Farmer’s Market

In Huntington Beach on Main Street the evening of Tuesday, September 4th, it will be the Surf City Nights Street Fair and Farmer’s Market. One of the best family events in Orange County, you’ll have a chance to score some delicious produce, as well as dried fruits and nuts, locally-sourced honey, fresh baked goods, original crafts, and so much more. There’s also food carts with lots of yummy ethnic food. For the kids, there’s musical groups, inflatables, face painting, a magician, and even pirates. Admission is free.

Sea Glass Wrapping

Do you have a young artist on your hands? Feed your child’s creative energy with this jewelry-making class on Wednesday, September 5th at Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach. Your kids get the chance to make a one-of-a-kind piece of original art when they learn the fine craft of wire-wrapping sea glass. Materials are provided, though donations of sea glass are accepted as well. It’s $15 per child per day. You also get access to the rest of the park.

Festival of Children

At South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, the Festival of Children is a month-long event that’s now in its 17th year. This is a celebration of young people that is meant to educate and entertain, as well as to raise awareness of a host of worthy children’s charities. There are all sorts of events going on, but a great one is this Friday the 7th, the Coffee, Tea, Mommy and Me presentation. This will be a performance that teaches about home safety and vehicle seat safety, and there will also arts and crafts and music. Coffee and tea for the parents are available as well. Admission is free. This promises to be one of more high-energy events in Orange County this week, so if you have some rambunctious youngsters they are sure to feel welcome.

That’s it for another week in the OC. Whichever of these events you choose, it should be plenty to keep your kids occupied. Maybe they’ll even sleep soundly that night. This blog was brought to you by Toyota of Orange, the leader in Orange County auto sales.
