Take Part In The 2020 Dino Detour This November
During this crazy time, a lot of things have had to change. However, this change is in favor of the people, and although it’s brought hardships and a great deal of stress, we have to keep each other safe. Every year there are all kinds of things to do in Orange County, especially ones with running. The Dino Dash, for example, holds a 5K race every year. This year is their 30th anniversary, but given the guidelines we have to follow, the race is being postponed until November 7, 2021. Although the postponement will come as sad news, the Dino Dash has been transformed into a virtual race event called Dino Detour. The Dino Detour will keep everyone safe during the ongoing pandemic and keep the community active and still support the local schools.
Although the race will be conducted virtually, you can drive by and pick up a swag bag that will include a special day Detour medal and a t-shirt, as well as offerings from the race sponsors.
Steps To Follow For The Event:
- Register for the Dino Detour Virtual 5K
- You will then receive a confirmation email with instructions.
- Getting your Swag Bag – Pick Up or Delivery.
- The bag will include your Dino Detour shirt, finisher medal, race bib, and goodies.
Participating In The Race:
- Download the ACTIVE.COM EXPERIENCE app and the Dino-Mite Spotify Playlist
- Complete your race by November 13, 2020. You can go for a RUN, WALK, or BIKE RIDE to complete your 5K all at once or split us as you wish.
- Track your race by using the ACTIVE EXPERIENCE App.
- Post your photos to INSTAGRAM and FACEBOOK with the hashtag or tag @DINODETOUR #DINODETOUR @TPSF #TPSF

Q: How do I get my swag bag?
A: Participants can choose what method of receiving the bag they want. The two options will be pickup or delivery. Pickup can be done at local elementary schools and middle schools. Shipping to your home can be done as well.
Q: Where do I run?
A: You can participate in the race by running, walking, or riding your bike anywhere you wish at any given time!
Q: Do you have team registration?
A: Yes! Families are encouraged to run together! There is a special family, four-pack pricing.
Q: Will there be race results?
A: Because this 5K is a virtual event, the event staff will be collecting virtual race completion information, but there won’t be any individual awards given. Q: Who should register for the race?
A: ANYONE! The more, the better. Families, relatives, schools, and people in other states are all welcome to join this fitness challenge.
Although the effects of Covid-19 have come on strong, this event is a great opportunity and is one of many things to do in Orange County.
