Why Attend Oktoberfest at Old World Village in Huntington Beach?
Have you ever wanted to celebrate a holiday where there is plenty of food and beverages to be had and where you’re almost guaranteed to have fun? If you happen to be in SoCal and are looking for some Orange County events, head down to Huntington Beach to experience Oktoberfest from September 19 to October 31. It is a must for those who want to have a fantastic time!
The Beer
You cant start talking about Oktoberfest without talking about the drinks. Besides having a selection of the finest German sausages that you can find, you can expect to see the likes of Dunkel, Helles, and Hefeweizen which can truly make the experience feel complete. If you’re at the Oktoberfest and it’s a particularly hot day due to the residual effects of summer, these are among some of the finest drinks to have.
Parade
No Oktoberfest is complete without a parade. Just ask the people in Munich and how festive they are when it comes to the holiday. In Huntington Beach, if you’re indeed interested in actually witnessing the parade, you’re going to see the likes of horse-drawn carriages, lively bands followed by enthusiastic flag bearers, and majestic floats that can wow the eyes.
The Bands
With Oktoberfest, you’re going to need some excellent music provided by just as fantastic bands to make the experience even more remarkable. Unsurprisingly, many of these bands are German in origin, such as the Schwaubapower, who play traditional and old-style music that is still very much appreciated today. You will also hear and witness the performance of bands such as German American Brass Band that also sing traditional music, which has been a hit since 1962.
Unity Day
Another facet that adds to the appeal of Oktoberfest is the celebration of German Reunification, which occurred October 3, 1990, and is celebrated in the same vein as Oktoberfest. With the German national flag being on display, speeches being given, and beer flowing freely, this particular day is an excellent extension and, in a way, an amazing addon to Oktoberfest, bringing the festivities to the next level.
